Gag/ Short Cheek Headstalls

I'm a long time lover of high purchase headstalls and horses with small heads. Unfortunately, many headstalls available today have fairly long cheeks. This often causes the headstall buckle to lay over top of the horse's temporomandibular joint (TMJ) on horses with little heads or when using high purchase headstalls. Buckles over the TMJ is one of my biggest pet peeves with bridle fit because it can cause a lot of discomfort.

I really struggled with finding affordable, "working tack" type headstalls that could accommodate my medium and high purchase bits. The cheeks measure 7" and the total length of the headstall from bit to bit is 30-40". The headstalls are heavy oil and very soft.
